The S.C. Corinthians Football Inc (formally Alloway Football
Club Inc.) have recently seen players moving away to play in the NPL and FQPL.
The latest player to play in the NPL competition for Gold Coast Knights is
Keanu Crofts.
Keanu began his footballing journey playing for Alloway
Football Club Inc. in 2012. In Under 7’s Keanu received the prestigious “Horrie
Brown Memorial Award” for the Junior Player of the Year. Keanu continued to
play for the club until the end of 2017 when he was selected to play with the
Wide Bay Buccaneers. During his time at Alloway, Keanu would have played over
100 games. In 2016/2017 he played 38 games, scoring 9 goals.
While at Alloway, Keanu found a love for futsal and has been
a member of the Bundaberg Wildcats system for many years. This has continued
throughout his time playing with the Buccaneers and most recently Keanu played
with the Wildcats at the Gold Coast International where his team made the
semi-finals. While at Shalom Catholic College he was selected for representative
honours for futsal.
During his time at the Wide Bay Buccaneers, Keanu has helped
play an integral role in helping the U/13 team place 5th and missing
the finals only on goal difference in 2018 and then in the semi-finals in
losing in the elimination final. Keanu received the Players’ Player for his
contribution to the team in both years.
So now to his current journey. In 2020 Keanu and his mum,
Dee, packed up from Bundaberg and moved to the Gold Coast. He attends Robina
High and is part of the football and futsal program. Keanu recently played up
in Robina High’s U/19 senior boys team (playing midfield and left wing) to
compete in the schoolboys Allianz Cup. The team were undefeated winning the
final. He also competed in some futsal tournaments for Robina High and was
selected in the QLD South Coast team to play at the National School
Championships.
Keanu has been selected to play for the Gold Coast Knights
U/15 Academy team . So far during the COVID affected season Keanu has been able
to play 9 games, however from reports he has been doing fantastic playing
midfield and left wing. During the week Keanu has been involved with the Gold
Coast Knight U15's in the 2020 Premier Invitational where they were crowned champions
after beating Sunshine Coast in a penalty shoot-out.
Congratulations to Keanu on his journey from a young Alloway
member to a current NPL player. We wish you all the best and thank you for
being a part of our history and good luck with working towards the main NPL
team in the future. Great work mate!!
